Process description
Ammonia is synthesized from nitrogen and hydrogen at high temperature and high pressure. The molecular formula is NH3 and the molecular weight is 17. It is a colorless gas at normal temperature with a strong irritating odor, flammable and toxic. The highest operating concentration in the air is 30mg/Nm3. It can be turned into liquid by cooling and pressurizing, and the boiling point of liquid ammonia is -33.5oC. Liquid ammonia is a refrigerant and an important raw material for chemical, perfume and medicine, energy and fuel industries.
The Green Ammonia Plant mainly includes the following units: Nitrogen preparation unit, Hydrogen preparation unit, Ammonia synthesis unit, Ammonia compression unit, Liquid ammonia storage unit and utility unit.
